Gary Bowyer admits there has been Premier League interest in Scott Dann, but Blackburn Rovers are yet to receive a suitable bid for the player.
The former Birmingham City defender is enjoying another solid season in the heart of the Ewood Park back four, having featured in 25 of their 27 Championship fixtures. This has helped Rovers climb up to ninth in the latest standings, and they are now just three points off a playoff spot as they set their sights on a Premier League return.
It was always likely that there would be interest in Dann during the January transfer window, and this has been the case. Although Blackburn are refusing to mention the identity of the clubs who have shown an interest in the centre-half, it has been speculated that both Crystal Palace and Norwich City have tabled bid for his signature.
However, speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph, Bowyer confirmed: “Yes, there are clubs interested in signing Scott Dann. But until they meet the valuation that the club has got on him, and until that is put in writing to the club, it is just pure speculation.”
The Rovers boss, meanwhile, will have to cope without Dann for the match against Barnsley on Tuesday night, after his captain picked up an Achilles injury in the 1-1 draw with Derby County at the weekend.
