Nathan Dyer is looking forward to regular first team football again, after securing a season-long loan move to Leicester City on deadline day.
The 27-year-old has spent more than six years at Swansea City, during which time he has helped them earn promotion to the Premier League and win the League Cup in 2013 when he scored a brace in a resounding 5-0 win over Bradford City at Wembley. But he has fallen down the pecking order this term, making just one substitute appearance in the top-flight.
Dyer, who has featured in more than 200 games for the Welsh club, remains under contract at the Liberty Stadium until the summer of 2017. But Garry Monk has allowed him to leave on a temporary basis, and the former Southampton winger is delighted to link up with Claudio Ranieri and Leicester, where he will spend the remainder of the current campaign.
“It feels brilliant,” he told the official club website. “The gaffer wanted me to come here and play some football, and help the team keep progressing like they have been. It’s good to finally come here. The facilities are amazing. Massive training ground and, speaking to the physios, they have got everything you need. Everything is at your disposal, so I am looking forward to getting started.”
