Former Real Madrid youngster Samuel Saiz has joined Leeds United, who have now added eight players to their squad since the end of last season.
Saiz developed through the youth system at Real Madrid, and made more than 50 appearances for their B and C sides without progressing to the first team. He has since had a string of spells at clubs including Getafe and Atletico Madrid, and more recently SD Huesca in the Segunda Division.
The Spanish forward – a former under-19 international – helped the side from El Alcoraz reach the playoffs, scoring 12 goals and making eight assists in 40 appearances before they crashed out to Getafe over two legs. His performances, though, have earned him a move to England.
Saiz has signed a four-year contract at Elland Road, after Leeds agreed an undisclosed fee for his signature. The 26-year-old follows Vurnon Anita, Caleb Ekuban, Madger Gomes, Pontus Jansson, Mateusz Klich, Hadi Sacko and Felix Wiedwald to the Yorkshire club this summer.
