Antoine Griezmann believes he can achieve his ambitions at Atletico Madrid, despite reports linking him with a number of big-money transfers.
Most recently the France international has been linked with a summer move to Chelsea, who are believed to have identified him as a possible replacement for Eden Hazard. Although the Belgium international remains under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2020, he has struggled for form this season and may decide for a fresh start when the 2016-17 campaign begins.
Madrid rivals Real and French champions Paris Saint Germain have also been credited with a move for Griezmann, who is now in his second season at the Vicente Calderon. However, despite some of the biggest clubs in Europe showing an interest in his signature, the 24-year-old insists he is happy at Atletico where he feels he can achieve all of his ambitions.
“I am feeling very well at Atletico,” Griezmann told Telefoot. “This is a big club and I want to achieve great things here. I am ambitious and my goal is to win trophies here. I have become more mature. The club and my team-mates rely on me. I have become a more complete player and have to continue on the same path. I am not at my best just yet.”
Griezmann began his career with Real Sociedad, where he spent four years in their youth ranks before making his first team debut in 2009. He scored 52 goals in 201 appearances for the Basque club, who accepted Atletico’s offer of £24million for his signature in 2014. It is believed Los Rojiblancos have increased his buyout clause from £60million to £75million.
