Barcelona’s stars are ready to welcome Neymar to the Camp Nou, claims Andre Cury.
The Brazilian international is regarded as one of the best talents in world football, and it is only a matter of time before he leaves current club Santos for Europe. Barca have long been considered favourites to sign the 21-year-old, although it is widely accepted that the player will remain for one more year and move on after his nation have held the World Cup Finals.
According to Cury, who is the agent that usually works with the Catalonia club on transfers in South America, Neymar is at the top of the wanted list at the Camp Nou. And the current stars in Tito Villanova’s squad are ready to welcome the talented forward with open arms.
“He is top of the wish list for planned signings and our players are aware of this,” he told Radio Globo. “We do not usually sign many players, and he is our first choice. When he decides to leave Santos, we will be ready. We want Neymar, if need be we’ll wait till after the World Cup.
“But, if possible, we will start negotiations this summer. Lionel Messi, Xavi and Andres Iniesta are already awaiting him with open arms. It could be that in two or three years Messi will be able to pass on the Barcelona baton to Neymar, just like Ronaldinho passed it to him.”
It has been reported that Barca, who will face Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals later this month, have already made a down-payment to secure the signature of Neymar. And whilst this has not been confirmed, what is clear is that they will be at the very front of the queue when the youngster finally decides to leave his roots for a European challenge.
