Queens Park Rangers have added to their defensive options with the free transfer signing of Alex Baptiste, who has signed a two-year contract.
The 31-year-old has been under contract at Middlesbrough for the past two years, but only has one League Cup appearance to show for his time on Teesside. Instead he has picked up games whilst on loan at Sheffield United in League One and, last season, in the Championship at Preston North End.
And following his release from the Riverside Stadium he is now hoping for a fresh start at Loftus Road, after signing a two-year deal with the capital club. This move sees him reunited with manager Ian Holloway, for whom he played under during their time at Blackpool together.
“I’m very excited to be working with Ian Holloway again,” he told the official club website. “Working with him at Blackpool was the best time of my career. QPR is a massive club and I am really looking forward to being part of the squad. I’m an honest lad who gives 100 per cent.”
