Sandro Ramirez is the next player set to join Everton this summer, as the Premier League side close on his £5.25million signature.
Determined to push for a place in the top-four next season, Ronald Koeman’s side have already had a busy summer having broke their transfer record to sign Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford for an initial £30million, whilst Ajax midfielder Davy Klaassen has also joined for £24million. And now, as expected, Spain Under-21 international Ramirez is heading to Merseyside.
The 21-year-old was initially being lined up for a move to Atletico Madrid, but the capital club failed in a bid to overturn a transfer ban which forbids them from signing anyone this summer. The Toffees have taken full advantage of this and have met the striker’s release clause of £5.25million, and it is understood he has already undergone and passed a medical.
Ramirez is a product of the Barcelona youth system, although he perhaps understandably struggled to force his way into a star-studded starting eleven and made just 17 first team appearances. He joined Malaga last season and this allowed him to show his true potential, as he scored 14 goals and assisted in a further three during his 30 league outings for the club.
