Darren Randolph has completed a £5million move to Middlesbrough, and expects to be back in the Premier League with his new club soon.
The 30-year-old featured heavily for West Ham United last season, but was facing a season competing with Adrian for a place on the bench following the loan arrival from Joe Hart. So when Boro came in with a £5million bid, he was happy to drop down a division for regular first team football.
Despite the disappointment of losing their top-flight status last term after just one season, the Riverside Stadium club will be amongst the favourites to clinch promotion from the Championship. And Randolph certainly feels his new side belong amongst the elite of English football.
“I’m delighted to get it all signed and completed,” he told the official club website on Saturday evening. “Arriving here and see the facilities, it’s definitely a Premier League club. I want to come here and get the club back to where it belongs and be part of something special.”
