Taarabt could be left in limbo as QPR progress without him

Adel Taarabt may not get much first team football this season, as he struggles to make any sort of impression whilst at Fulham.

The Moroccan midfielder, who was once rated as one of the best young talents in Europe, is currently on a season-long loan deal at Craven Cottage. However, he has been handed just three Premier League starts so far this term, whilst he has failed to feature since Rene Meulensteen replaced Martin Jol earlier this month.

It has been reported that the terms of this temporary deal could be broken, which would result in Taarabt returning to Queens Park Rangers to aid their bid for an instant return to the Premier League. However, with the Loftus Road club doing just fine without him, Harry Redknapp is in no rush to welcome him back.

“I’ve heard that [Fulham] do want him out, so let’s see what happens,” said the QPR manager. “I’m not desperate. Players who wanted to leave in the summer because we got relegated, good luck to them at their new clubs. I’ve not even thought about Adel. He’s at Fulham as far as I am concerned, and Fulham are in trouble and he’s still not playing, which must be disappointing for him.”

QPR recorded a 2-0 win at Blackpool on Saturday afternoon, and are now two points ahead of Burnley at the head of the Championship standings.
