Cristiano Ronaldo has heaped the praise on Gareth Bale, claiming the Wales international has been amazing for Real Madrid.
Eyebrows were raised all over planet football when Los Blancos made Bale the most expensive signing in history during the summer, with Tottenham Hotspur believed to have received over £90million for his signature.
After a slow start the 24-year-old has found some of the form which so impressed last season, and he now has seven goals in 10 La Liga outings. Not only this, but he has also shone in the UEFA Champions League, with two goals to his name.
In fact, only Ronaldo, of course, is outperforming the former Southampton youngster, as he continues to find the back of the net on a staggeringly regular basis: the 28-year-old has scored 17 goals in 15 league matches, and has rattled in another nine in just five appearances in the Champions League.
But the former Manchester United forward, who signed a new five-year contract in the Spanish capital during the summer, is quick to praise Bale, claiming his new team-mate is proving to be an amazing signing for the Bernabeu giants.
“Bale is doing amazing,” he told Marca. “He started a little bit slow with injuries and small problems. It’s normal because he didn’t do any pre-season. Afterwards he’s been under a lot of pressure. It’s hard but I think he’s now in a good way, he’s integrated more in the team. People like him, the supporters and players want him here. I hope he can help us win trophies.”
