Douglas makes move to Wolverhampton Wanderers

Barry Douglas is the fourth signing of the summer for Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Championship side have already added Ryan Bennett, Roderick Miranda and Phil Ofosu-Ayeh to their squad, as they look to improve on last season’s 15th place finish.

And Nuno Santo, who was appointed head coach in May, has now made signing number four, with fullback Douglas joining from Konyaspor for an undisclosed fee.

“I can’t wait to get going,” the 27-year-old told the official club website. “Wolves are a big club and that this is an exciting challenge for me. I share the ambition to play at the highest level and at a club like Wolves the opportunity is there to push for promotion and play in the Premier League.”

Douglas began his career at Queens Park and also played for Dundee United before a three-year spell in Poland with Lech Poznan, who he helped win the league title in 2015. The uncapped left back then left for Turkey in 2016, and he has made 42 appearances for Konyaspor in all competitions.
