There is no chance of Luka Modric leaving Real Madrid, claims his agent.
The Croatian international only joined the Spanish giants last summer, when they paid £33million to take him from Tottenham Hotspur. Modric has gone on to make 47 appearances in his debut season, scoring three goals and assisting four more.
It has been widely suggested that the playmaker has failed to find his best form at the Bernabeu, demonstrated by Marca naming him as the worst signing of the summer back in December. This has led to speculation linking him with a move away from the club at the end of the season, and whilst a return to England has been mooted, latest reports claim Serie A giants Internazionale have made him a top target for the coming weeks.
The Nerazzurri lost Wesley Sneijder to Galatasaray in January after a much-publicised falling out with the Holland international, and they hope to find a quality replacement before the start of the next campaign. However, Mario Mamic, who acts as Modric’s agent, insists there is no chance his client will leave Real anytime soon.
“Luka will stay at Real Madrid. I don’t think there is any chance that we can see him in a different shirt in the next few years,” Mamic told tuttomercatoweb. “Would he say no to Inter to stay at Real? I think so. Even if Inter are a good side, Luka wants to stay at Real. Luka wants to only play for Real Madrid and there isn’t the slightest chance that he will leave.”
