Pulis prepared to take Best if Blackburn agree to sell £3m Dann

So eager are they to sign Scott Dann this month, Crystal Palace have offered to take Leon Best from Blackburn Rovers as part of the transfer.

Tony Pulis has made a positive impact at Selhurst Park since being appointed as Ian Holloway’s successor, with supporters now of the opinion the Eagles can beat the odds and avoid an instant return to the Championship. Although they are currently bottom of the standings after 21 matches, they are just a single point from safety.

Indeed, such is the competition in the top-flight this season, the Londoners are just six points away from an unlikely place in the top ten. However, if they are to climb in the right direction, Pulis knows he needs to add more quality to his squad this month, and he has set his sights on a deal for former Birmingham City star Dunn.

The 26-year-old has been a key performer in the Blackburn side this season, and manager Gary Bowyer will be reluctant to see him leave. However, according to the Daily Mirror, Pulis aims to tempt the Lancashire club with an offer of £3million, and he is also prepared to take Best off their hands if they agree to sell the centre-half.

The former Newcastle United striker has failed to make an impression since joining in 2012, and he has fallen out with Bowyer as well as the supporters. As one of the highest earners at the club, the Championship side are keen to get rid, and Palace will offer to take him on loan for the rest of the season and pay his salary if Rovers sell them Dann.
