Real Zaragoza raid Old Trafford to take teenage striker on loan

Real Zaragoza have signed Angelo Henriquez on a season-long loan deal.

The 19-year-old joined Manchester United in August 2012, when he left Universidad de Chile to test his quality in England. However, thus far he has yet to make a competitive first team appearance for the Reds, and ended last season on loan at Wigan Athletic.

Henriquez made just four outings in the Premier League for the DW Stadium club, who were later relegated from the top-flight. He did, though, collect his first major honour in his adopted country, as an unused substitute in the 1-0 FA Cup final win over Manchester City.

With stars such as Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez blocking the teenager’s route into David Moyes’ plans this season, the Old Trafford club have allowed him to go out on loan again, this time to Spanish outfit Zaragoza.

The Chile international, who scored 11 goals in 17 league appearances for his first club and also has two goals and two caps for his country, underwent a medical with the Spaniards on Wednesday, and is set to be officially unveiled at La Romareda on Thursday.

Los Blanquillos were relegated from La Liga last season, finishing bottom of the table, and they have started their Segunda campaign with two draws.
