Ahead of the transfer window Jordan Rhodes admits he would love to play in the Premier League…most of all, for Blackburn Rovers.
The Scotland international is once more enjoying an impressive season, with his goal in the 1-0 win against Yeovil Town on Saturday afternoon being his 13th of the campaign. With many top-flight clubs keeping tabs on the 23-year-old, January is sure to be a worrying time for the Ewood Park faithful.
Cardiff City, Crystal Palace and Hull City are all said to be willing to offer Rhodes Premier League football this season, and the striker admits he would love to test his quality against the best in the country. However, the former Huddersfield Town star sees no reason why he can’t earn such a platform at his current club.
“I love going into Blackburn Rovers every day and I love the club,” Rhodes told the Daily Star. “Until I’m told otherwise, I am a Blackburn Rovers player and happy to pull on the shirt. The transfer window is totally out of my hands. Of course it would be nice to play in the Premier League. I don’t see why we can’t do it this season if we can put two or three victories together and go on a run.”
The win against Yeovil lifts the Lancashire side to 11th place in the Championship after 21 matches. Gary Bowyer’s side are just four points off sixth position and a playoff spot, which has to be their target for the season.
