Swansea City are in talks with Blackpool winger Tom Ince, according to Sky Sports, as they look to stave off completion for his signature.
The former Liverpool youngster is regarded as one of the best talents in the country, and has long been linked with a move to the Premier League. A return to Anfield has been mooted, whilst Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are said to be admirers and he snubbed a move to Cardiff City during the summer transfer window.
Ince could yet seal a move to Wales, though, albeit with the Bluebirds rivals Swansea. According to Sky sources, the 21-year-old is currently in talks with Michael Laudrup’s side about a move to the Liberty Stadium this month. This isn’t the first time the Dane has shown an interest in the winger, having made enquiries for him last year.
It looks like they could finally land the England Under-21 international this month, after Blackpool boss Paul Ince confirmed an approach has been made. However, the former Manchester United midfielder insists this is not a done deal by any stretch, and he fully expects the Welsh club to face competition in their quest to sign his son.
“It won’t just be Swansea who come in,” Ince senior told the Blackpool Gazette on Monday. “He’s going to get attention from other clubs. Swansea City have been in touch with our chairman. Karl (Oyston) is dealing with (Swansea’s) Huw Jenkins on that one. Whether he’s here after January or until the summer, who knows?”
