Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to battle Chelsea for the signature of Fernando Llorente, who looks set to leave Swansea City on deadline day.
With Diego Costa out of the equation at Stamford Bridge and expected to move to Atletico Madrid, Antonio Conte is eager to find a striker to compete with summer signing Alvaro Morata.
Llorente, another Spaniard, has been linked with the Premier League champions for several weeks now, and they have been in discussions with Swansea in relation to a £15million transfer.
However, it now appears as though the Blues face competition from capital rivals Tottenham, as Mauricio Pochettino sees the 32-year-old as the ideal man to offer an alternative to Harry Kane.
Whoever the Spaniard joins, it is likely to have a knock-on effect: it would allow the Swans to re-sign Wilfried Bony from Manchester City; for Chelsea it would accelerate Costa’s return to Spain; whilst for Spurs, they would then likely offload Dutch flop Vincent Janssen.
