Klopp will let Stewart mull over Brighton interest

Jurgen Klopp will let Kevin Stewart mull over his immediate future, with Brighton & Hove Albion prepared to pay £10million for his signature.

The Seagulls will be a new name in the Premier League next season, having clinched promotion from the Championship earlier this month. Manager Chris Hughton will be given funds to make the necessary improvements to his squad, and has identified Stewart as a target.

The 23-year-old midfielder has featured nine times in the Liverpool first team this season, but has recently undergone surgery on a hernia operation which has ended his campaign.

Klopp handed Stewart his first team debut in the 2-2 FA Cup draw with Exeter City last term, and has been sufficiently impressed to hand the player a new contract which is set to run until the end of the 2020/21 season.

Brighton, though, are thought to be willing to spend as much as £10million for the former Tottenham Hotspur youngster, and Klopp will allow him time to consider if he would prefer a move to a club where he will likely gain more first team opportunities.
